With Windows:
1. Go to Start - Computer
2. In the menubar, go to: Tools - Folder Options... (With Windows Vista, you have to push the "Alt" key before you can see the "Tools" menu)
3. Go to "View", and than deselect the mark from "Hide extentions for known file types".
4. Then search for your "SuperBluetoothHack_v108.zip" file. Now change the last part from ".zip" to ".jar", and confirm it.
5. Now you can send it to your phone and open it.
Installation instructions for a Sony Ericsson using a USB cable:
1. Connect your phone with your computer.
2. It mounts as a disk.
3. Drag the file that you have just downloaded (SuperBluetoothHack_v108.jar) to /MSSEMC/Media files/other/ on that disk (=your phone).
4. Disconnect the USB cable from your phone.
5. Go to the folder "Other" on your phone.
6. There is the application. Select it and click "Install".
7. The program is installed on the place you specified. Most likely it's the Applications folder.
Change the language to English:
If the software starts with the language "Slovencina", you can change it to English on this way:
1.If you start the application for the first time you see "Nastavenia" in the title.
2. Go a bit down until you see "Jazyk".
3. Click choose.
4. Select "English".
5. Click "More".
6. Click "Spat".
7. Now the program is in English.

Synchronize BlackBerry with my Desktop Computer

Synchronizing your BlackBerry with your desktop computer is a must! It just works incredibly fine and is easy going to set up. This article is meant to help you to get this working. If you have already set it up and you think it is fine you can just skip this article. But if you are not sure your setting is correct – but it is working actually – you should keep reading and check whether you have set it up right.

We wil cover the following parts of your BlackBerry and desktop application for synchronization:

Address Book
Calendar
MemoPad
Tasks

Please keep in mind that we are not covering the synchronization of E-Mails in this article. We will do so later I guess. The setup that is used for this presention is as followed:

BlackBerry Pearl (BlackBerry OS 4.2 from HKCSL)
BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2.0.14
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Desktop Computer
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Enterprise Edition

You can use this procedure for your setup as well. E.g. you are using another BlackBerry model (72xx, 87xx or 71xx) the setup is the nearly the same. To get your computer’s data synchronized with your BlackBerry and vice versa proceed as followed:

Be sure you have the BlackBerry Desktop Software installed on your desktop computer already.
Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Connect your BlackBerry with your computer via USB.
Click on Synchronize.

Activate the Synchronize organizer data checkbox.

Click on the Configuration tab and click on the Configure synch… button.

Select all data checkboxes you want your BlackBerry being synchronized to.

By selecting the data you have to select the program that stores your data on your desktop computer. As I am using Outlook from Microsoft I have selected this program. But you can select another one as well. It just depends on the program you are running.

That’s it. Now go back and you can select the Synchronize now button at the synchronize dialog.

If you want your BlackBerry being synchronized every time you connect it to your desktop computer you better select Synchronize the items selected above… checkbox.

Voice over IP service Fring has just brought video calls to a bunch of Nokia phones, allowing “Fringsters” to conduct free live chat with each other, or with their Skype contacts, via their phone’s 3G or Wi-Fi connection.

The Fring update – which is the first video chat via IP service ever – is currently available to anyone with a Nokia X6, Nokia N97 Mini, Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia N95. It comes embedded in the regular Fring app, which already allows free VoIP calls to Fring, Skype and GTalk users.

Fring video enables users to conduct video calls with other fringsters as well as with Skype contacts over their device’s Wi-Fi or 3G internet connection.
This video feature is embedded within the fring application that enables free voice calls to other fring users, Skype and GTalk buddies as well as friends on regular phone lines via Skype-Out and hundreds of popular SIP services. fring users live chat, update profiles, share files and talk with friends from several Instant Messaging services like MSN, AIM, GoogleTalk and Skype, in addition to interacting with popular online social networks including Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm and more, all from one integrated fring contact list.

The S3650 Corby is tech-savvy and fresh - just like its target audience. And this entry level touchscreen seems to quite nicely suit both the user's liking and bill-payer's budget.

The S3650 Corby is for youngsters that are keen on technology, for active social networkers, for those who like to personalize and customize. The budget price implies no fancy stuff but the wide range of features is absolutely relevant to the target audience. There're two extra Jackets in the retail box to make the time spent with the S3650 Corby even more personal experience.

On the social side, the Samsung S3650 Corby offers Facebook, MySpace and Twitter integration, while photo and video sharing are taken care of with direct uploads to YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Photobucket. You can update your status on the various social networking sites and receive updates from your friends via a neat pop-up notification feature. All that is a tap away on the 2.8" capacitive touchscreen.

“Pop-up SNS” interface that allows you to keep tabs on what your buddies on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are doing at the moment. The current social networking functions of our prototype boil down to uploading pictures and videos to different networks and, except for the above mentioned providers, you have Flickr, YouTube, Picasa, Photobucket and Friendster as well.
We quite like the Photo contacts. The list gets automatically filled in with your most frequently dialed contacts and we must say this is really comfy, since you don’t need to do it manually. Unfortunately, the Samsung Corby S3650 lacks screen QWERTY keyboard, probably because its display is not large enough.

The phone audio player is pretty much the same as the version on other TouchWiz handsets and feels comfy enough, plus you will also get an FM Radio with RDS that features audio recognition. The camera itself is equipped with 2-megapixel sensor, but comes without flash. Still, we are really impressed by its speed. The average time between two consecutive shots is less than a second and this means you can take pictures like really fast, so you can be sure you won´t miss a single interesting moment at parties.As for loudspeaker performance, the S3650 Corby scored a very good mark.

The Samsung S3650 Corby also supports multitasking, which means that Java applications can be minimized to run in the background. However, there is no hardware key to allow you to switch between the apps, which certainly makes multitasking much less of a treat.

Samsung have also enabled the S3650 Corby with the Smart unlock feature, previously known as Gesture lock. Smart unlock allows users to simultaneously unlock the phone and open a menu item, application - even dial a contact - just by drawing a letter on the unlock screen.

The audio output of the Samsung S3650 Corby is pretty pleasing, save for one minor flaw. The stereo crosstalk reading in our traditional test came up pretty poor, suggesting some leakage between the two channels. However since this is purely a mechanical problem we are suspecting that it is mainly due to the pre-release status of our unit and it might as well be taken care of in the final version.

The Samsung S3650 Corby features a 2 megapixel fixed focus camera for maximum image resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels.

The camera does not have auto-focus, but it sports the nice Smile shot feature. As soon as the person smiles, the handset takes the shot for you automatically.

The camera interface is nicely touch-optimized and is certainly among the most comfortable camera interfaces on a touchscreen device.

The Samsung S3650 Corby, like the Samsung S8000 Jet, features the new WebKit-based Dolfin web browser, which is a home-brew application. With full Flash support and the new one-finger zooming algorithm, it is one of the finest web browsers we have seen on a feature phone.

The one-finger zooming works like a charm too. Of course you can also rely on double tapping a block of text or an image and the handset will automatically zoom in to it. Another double tap and you are back to the previous zoom level.

The S3650 Corby is a simple, affordable and attractive touchscreen with modest but very focused feature set. It is designed to be small, to suit the social needs of youngsters and to be trendy. Its styling and Fashion Jackets are quite relevant too.

Samsung Impression Review

The Samsung Impression is probably the most advanced feature phone in AT&T's current lineup, and its one of the few phones on the markets with the brilliant, colorful AMOLED screen technology. For calling, media playback and even Web browsing, we found the apps to be very touch friendly, though not too advanced. The keyboard is a nice addition, but the phone lacks most of our favorite messaging options. Mostly, we wish that there were better video playback options to truly take advantage of the impressive screen. Still, the phone was fun to use, and some features came through for us. The camera was better than we expected, and pictures looked great on the 3.2-inch display. Also, GPS performance was good, and we liked being able to geotag those pics. Overall, the Samsung Impression is the best feature phone we've tried on AT&T, but we wish the carrier would go farther with messaging and Web browsing options and let these feature phones live up to their full potential.

Pros: AMOLED screen is among the best in class. Very good calling features, including great call handling.
Cons: Web browser disappointing. Multimedia could have been better, especially transfer software. Lacks good, modern messaging options.

Today Nokia introduced ultra stylish 6700 Slide.

The 6700 Slide is Nokia’s latest to pack a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. There’s built-in image editing software, as well as the usual sharing functions, letting you send snaps to the web straight from the camera menu.

Sony Ericsson Satio Returned Due To Software Faults

The Sony Ericsson Satio has been recalled by both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U after high levels of returns. Punters are said to have reported software faults with the top end Sony Ericsson cell, which has only been on the shelves for a couple of months.

This picture below shows the Sony Ericsson Satio point of sale at a Phones4U store, with a sign simply stating, “Withdrawn due to software faults.”

At the moment, those “software faults” have not been specified, but we’re onto Sony Ericsson and the mobile shops too to find out just what it means if you’ve got a Sony Ericsson Satio in your pocket.

In a statement issued to us, Sony Ericsson said, “Sony Ericsson confirms that it has been made aware that a small number of consumers have experienced software issues with its Satio handset when using certain applications. Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u have temporarily removed the handset from sale to ensure that future customers do not have an adverse experience. Sony Ericsson is giving this matter its utmost priority and is working toward solving it as soon as possible. ” It did not issue any details on what’s actually wrong with the cell.
Carphone Warehouse told us that, “We want customers to have complete confidence and satisfaction in the handsets they buy from us, which is why we have temporarily withdrawn the Sony Ericsson Satio from sale.” Similarly, Phones4U said, “We’re working very closely with Sony Ericsson to resolve these issues as soon as possible. In the meantime, customers who report a fault with their Satio handset will be offered a non like-for-like exchange.”

“We’re monitoring the situation closely, but the device is still available to buy for Vodafone customers. If we identify that there is a clear issue with the software, one that’s happening again and again, we would take necessary steps. But we’ve no reason to recall the Sony Ericsson Satio.”
Likewise, Orange says it’s continuing to sell the Satio. A spokesman from Orange told us it had, “Its own unique software build on the Orange branded variant, which is optimised for our network and which went through a significant period of testing prior to launch.” However, Orange also says it’s keeping a close eye on the situation.
3 and T-Mobile are yet to respond to this issue.

Sony Ericsson Pureness 2 next in the Pipeline

The phone’s designer confirmed that there’s already a second version in the works.

Daniel Mauritzson, who told us they’re already working on the next version. He told us it’d continue the original’s mission of simplifying mobile phones, boiling them down to the very basic functions to act as a “counterbalance” to feature-packed smartphones.

Details were sketchy, and it doesn’t sound like Sony Ericsson has progressed very far with the Pureness 2. Mauritzson says he is concentrating on “taking away” rather than adding features, and when pressed said: “You could remove the keys…” before trailing off.

He did hint that the focus would be on the software inside the Pureness 2 though, stating that Sony Ericsson designers had been forced to think differently by the monochrome screen, dealing in large, high contrast icons, and that future versions would simplify it even further.

Don’t hold your breath for the Sony Ericsson Pureness 2 any time soon though, Mauritzson says the original took two years to create, as it grew from a side-project into a fully-fledged phone, good enough for Sony Ericsson to give it Xperia branding.

Precorder Brings Easy Video Recording To Palm Pre

Video recording is now in alpha testing on the Palm Pre, via the new Precorder app. Made possible by weeks (and weeks and weeks) of painstaking work by "zsoc" of WebOS Internals (with big assistance from Rod Whitby, Roy of Pre101, and the ever-amazing Jason Robitaille), Precorder operates by way of a custom gstreamer executable, a Java service (gstservice), and a simple Mojo front-end. It records 30 FPS 480x320 H.264-encoded videos, and they are playable both on the device and on desktop PCs. And it should be in Preware very soon. In the meantime, you can download the somewhat unstable alpha version from the WebOS Internals wiki page here.
