LG has gone ahead and released the codename for their first Windows Phone 7-based device: Panther. The LG Panther. It’s the same device that got its world premiere on the Engadget Show last week, which we spoke about already. The LG Panther is set to launch with a 5MP camera with LED flash, and come packed with a physical slider QWERTY keyboard. Other than the mobile Operating System running under the hood, there’s not much more information to be had. The LG Panther meets the Microsoft's Chassis 2 requirements. This means that the Panther will jump on a 1GHz or faster processor with a WVGA screen or better. The rest of a standards are 5 megapixel camera, LED flash, microUSB and 3.5mm audio connectors. The Apollo is rumored to sport an AMOLED display plus 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording so it might go for the Chassis 1 instead.
Apollo and Panther turn out to be the same or completely different devices, it's sure LG are working hard on their Windows Phone 7 product lineup. As the rumor goes LG Panther is scheduled to launch in September.
